Labour Day 2027 and 2028 in Afghanistan
Labour Day is a national holiday in Afghanistan. It is also called International Workers’ Day and is observed every 1 May.
In 2027, Labour Day falls on Saturday 1 May. The holiday will be on Monday 1 May in 2028.

Labour Day has its roots in the International Labour Movement of the late 1800s. This movement fought for things like the 8-hour day, the 40-hour week, ending child labour, safer work environments, and more fair compensation.
Over time, the celebration of Labour Day spread from Europe and the Americas around the world. Sometimes, this holiday is associated with Socialist parties, but most Afghans view it as simply a day to honour all workers.
Most people get the day off on Labour Day. They usually spend time at home, enjoy a festive family meal, and take time to get out of doors.
