12 Rabi al-Awwal in Jordan is Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday, also known as Mawlid. It is an official public holiday, and King Abdullah of Jordan will attend special ceremonies on this day and give a speech on the meaning of Islam and of Muhammad’s teachings.
