Labour Day 2027 and 2028 in Egypt
Egypt observes Labour Day on 1 May but may move the date to the first Monday of May to create a long weekend. Most businesses and schools shut down for the day, and most workers get the day off.
In 2027, Labour Day falls on Saturday 1 May. The holiday will be on Monday 1 May in 2028.

Labour Day celebrates the achievement of better treatment of workers throughout the globe in response to labour unions and other related movements over the last two centuries. It coincides with Egypt’s national Labour Day holiday and is really the equivalent.
Many Egyptian workers still feel that more progress needs to be made to prevent the exploitation of workers. Labour Day is the major day of the year when media, labour unions, and government officials create awareness of these ongoing problems and offer solutions.
